The TASS
Journey
TASS, Dimenwave’s Time Aligned Spatial System, approaches playback with truth. Built around audio physics and natural perception, TASS optimizes existing stereo content to feel more natural, stable, and immersive on ordinary playback systems.
Why TASS Was Created
Most playback systems still treat stereo as a fixed left-right format, while many spatial solutions depend on special content, complex formats, or effects that sound impressive for a moment but do not always translate naturally. TASS was created to explore a different path: a system that respects the source, follows perceptual logic, and improves immersion through controlled spatial behavior rather than gimmickry.
Respect the Source
TASS was designed to work with the content people already listen to. Rather than requiring custom spatial masters or object-authored media, it focuses on revealing more believable behavior from normal playback material.
Work From Real Playback
The aim was never to build a lab-only concept. TASS has always been shaped around practical listening, repeatable tuning, and translation on real systems in real spaces.
Pursue Immersion Through Physics
At its core, TASS follows the idea that immersion improves when playback better reflects the timing, placement, and physical cues that ears naturally search for.
Version History
Each major phase of TASS solved a different problem. What began as a broad spatial idea gradually became a measurable, tunable, and more production-aware engine.
TASS 1.0 Foundations
Established the core physical model for spatializing standard stereo playback.
TASS 2.0 Voxels and SDK
Introduced voxel-based analysis and the first integrated SDK environment.
TASS 3.0 Maturity
Refined the engine path by eliminating complexity and optimizing core behavior.
TASS 3.5 Current Baseline
Integrated live diagnostics, telemetry, and scene-aware validation tools.
